NOLAKEYS "Music is Power" Campaign in Response to Hurricane Ida Disaster and the COVID-19 Crisis
“While we all prefer predictability, there are times in our lives — personal, communal, and now global, when chaos encroaches. Humankind is resilient. Nonprofits exist to offer hope, help people cope, and make the world better. Let’s use this challenging time to do just that.” - The Chronicle of Philanthropy 3/19/2020
First, we must acknowledge the difficult situation that the Hurricane Ida disaster and coronavirus pandemic present for us all. Amid all this bad news, there is comfort in knowing that nonprofits like NOLAKEYS are strengthening relationships with donors, volunteers and clients, communicating clearly and openly, and using technology to meet the needs of those affected.
NOLAKEYS is a 501c3 organization created to bring the power of music to our community through FREE music lessons and music experiences. We are committed to a common purpose during this crisis – education, workforce development and artistic expression. This emergency campaign, related to the crisis, is our attempt to offer support to families impacted. NOLAKEYS also supports musicians and music teachers and provides opportunities for FREE recreation and musical development for children and young adults.
NOLAKEYS is seeking donors, partners and sponsors to make monetary donations in any amount. All donations are appreciated and will make an impact. Supporters who are not in a position to make a financial commitment at this time can still support our efforts by donating used instruments and sharing our social media posts.
NOLAKEYS wants to reassure donors that we have exciting plans for the future. After this crisis is all over, we have a plan to continue services and support for musicians and children in need.
