HOW DOES MUSIC TRANSFORM LIVES?

The overall crime rate in New Orleans is 95% higher than the national average. For every 100,000 people, there are 14.7 daily crimes that occur in New Orleans. Crime is a significant problem in our city.

Since the year 2000, suicide rates in Louisiana have risen by more than 29% among both men and women and death by suicide is one of the leading causes of death for adolescents.

Music is a form of therapy and an outlet for people who may have anxiety and/or depression. Along with treatment by a medical professional, listening to and making music makes us feel more alive because we connect with it. 

Music also connects us because everyone can understand music. At NOLAKEYS, we expose children, adolescents, and adults to music and teach them how to express themselves through it. We help to bring them the blessings of music to change their feelings and improve their quality of life.
